About Jane Philpott

Jane Philpott (nee Townson) MA (Oxon), MSc, PhD, is a qualified Dietary Educator and cookery teacher. Jane spent 22 years researching and working on the global production of food, 14 years of which were as a senior R&D manager in industry, before beginning her training to degree level as a Nutritional Therapist. Jane provides confidential professional expertise and advice on how to transform health and well-being through implementing simple changes to diet and lifestyle. She writes for the Nutrition Practitioner Journal, for other publications in the field of health and healing such as Caduceus magazine, and for Somerset’s Western Gazette. She was also responsible for implementing an in-house hot lunch service (see case study on School Food Trust web-site) in a Somerset primary school (see Somerset County Council Transforming School Food web-site) so has considerable expertise in children’s nutrition, school food standards, food hygiene legislation and other aspects of setting up and running a catering business. She is working towards a further degree in Nutritional Therapy at the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management in Berkshire, which is accredited by Middlesex University and BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapists). Jane is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which is a provider of specialist mental health services.
